Shingled BarnScroll to view
Our client came to us looking to replace a useful (yet not so pretty) 70’s styled detached garage with a new and improved structure. Influenced by local barn vernacular of this region, the massing was decidedly an english gambrel. We worked extremely close with our client on all aspects of the design, and their love of east coast architecture influenced the aesthetic as well. Details include weathered cedar shingle siding, exposed rafter tails, real carriage doors painted in a slate blue, gooseneck fixtures, a potting table, and diamond roof shingles matching early 20th century local barns. A galvanized spiral stair leads to a studio loft, complete with a reclaimed wood floor and stunning views of the property in all four directions.
